Henry Cranefield, Auckland, QSM
For services to the community. Mr Cranefield has been the General Manager of Starship Children’s Hospital, and is the Deputy Chair of the Millennium Institute of Sport and Health Trust. He is a board member of the North Harbour Rugby Union and a former President of the Rotary Club of Milford. For more than 10 years he has given countless voluntary hours to chairing the North Shore Hospice Trust. This has contributed to its growth from a six-bed unit to becoming the Specialist Centre for Palliative Care for the Waitemata District Health Board. He also voluntarily chaired a taskforce that devised and wrote the DHB’s Palliative Care Strategy. As well as being a board member of the North Harbour Rugby Union, Mr Cranefield has Chaired the finance sub-committee for five years, ensuring that the organisation has remained financially viable.
