Professor Emeritus Martin Devlin, Waikanae, ONZM
For services to education. Professor Devlin was Director of the Massey University Master of Business Administration from 1989 to 2001 and again from 2008 to 2009. Under his leadership, this programme has become internationally accredited and its graduates lead many of New Zealand’s prominent businesses and organisations. He has continued to work in an advisory position to the programme since his retirement in 2010 and is a strong advocate for encouraging Māori students. Under his tenure, the Massey programme achieved the highest number of women graduates of any MBA programme in New Zealand. Professor Devlin was, until recently, Chair of the Levin War Veteran’s Home Trust, has served in the Regular and Territorial Army since 1958, and is the Honorary Colonel of the 5th Wellington, West Coast and Taranaki Battalion Group.
