Helen Timperley
Professor Helen Timperley, of Auckland, received the Insignia of a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to education. She was a teacher at early childhood, primary and secondary levels. She has written extensively on education including Shifting the Focus: Achievement Information for Professional Learning. She co-authored Using Evidence in Teaching Practice: Implications for Professional Learning. Professor Timperley is currently leading a major project on building schools capability to improve student achievement. Professor Timperley was a member of the national advisory committee on assessment, and the Te Kotahitanga advisory committee.
