Alison Broad
Alison Broad, of Invercargill, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the community. Since receiving the Queen’s Service Medal in 2000, Ms Broad has continued to contribute to the community. She is co-founder and National Chair of the Women’s Self Defence Network (Wāhine Toa) and has been involved in violence prevention education for more than 20 years. Ms Broad chairs the Board of Murihiku Young Parent’s Learning Centre Trust and the Southland Art Foundation.
