Dave Edhouse, Owhango, QSM
For services to the New Zealand Fire Service. Mr Edhouse has been a volunteer firefighter with the Owhango Fire Brigade for 35 years, 19 of them as Chief Fire Officer. He was the driving force behind the Brigade becoming a Rescue Brigade and organised the fundraising to buy rescue equipment. He served 10 years on the Owhango Community Council and three years on the National Park Community Board. He was Director of Utility Services Owhango, a community benefit company that maintains the water supply, and has been instrumental in providing new tables and chairs in the Owhango Community Hall. He also served for 35 years on the Motor Trade Association’s Taumarunui Branch, including six years as President.
