Daulat Bindra
Daulat Bindra, of Hamilton, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to the Indian community. Mr Bindra has been an active member of the Indian community, particularly the Sikh community, in Auckland and Hamilton and is a member of the Pukekohe Indian Association since 1963. He was responsible for the fundraising to build the Gurudwara Sahib in Hamilton. He was a foundation member of the Sikh Gurudwara (Temple) and the New Zealand Sikh Society and helped to establish other Sikh societies in Auckland, Te Puke and Tauranga. Mr Bindra is a life member of the New Zealand Indian Association and helped to establish its rural section.
