Murray Ferris
Murray Ferris, of Gisborne, received the Insignia of a Companion of the Queen's Service Order for services to the community. Mr Ferris has served the Gisborne community in many capacities for more than 40 years. He was a councillor for the Eastern Regional Fish and Game Council and has been an Honorary Ranger for the council, since 1999. He has helped many clubs with fundraising, including the Gisborne Car Club, the Gisborne Information Centre, the Yes Programme, school playground restoration and the Outdoor Pursuits Centre for youth. He has twice been the Chairman for the Gisborne Relay for Life organising committee and was on the founding committee of the Gisborne Public Relations Office. Through his career as a printer, he has been the regional representative on the PrintNZ Management Advisory Group and is active in PrintNZ Training. For 20 years, Mr Ferris has been involved with the Kiwanis Service Club.
