The Governor-General, on behalf of the King, holds investiture ceremonies for people named in the New Year and The King's Birthday Honours Lists and in Special Honours Lists.
Except for those honours that are in The King's personal gift, all awards are made on the advice of the Prime Minister.
The honours are administered by the Honours Unit, which is part of the Cabinet Office.
If you have any questions about New Zealand honours, would like to know more about previous and current recipients, or want to make a nomination, please contact the Honours Unit.
