Waitangi Day Garden Reception ballot closes soon

Issue date:
Tuesday, 2 October 2018

The ballot to attend the 2019 Waitangi Day Garden Reception at Government House is set to close on Friday at midnight (5 October, 2018).

This is the fifth year that Government House has held a ballot for invitations for the public and the response from the public has once again been excellent.

Official Secretary Gregory Baughen says the idea of spending Waitangi Day at Government House is an attractive one for many people.

“The ballot is entered by people from every part of New Zealand, all keen to mark our national day in a very special way.”

Invitation recipients will be selected from the ballot at random and will be able to bring a guest. The ballot can be accessed via the Governor-General’s website

Government House staff expect to be able to notify people of their success or otherwise in the ballot by November 1st.
