Dr Paul Davidson, of Blenheim, MNZM for services to documentary filmmaking
Dr Paul Davidson has scripted and directed over 200 films on topics such as whaling days, aviation, rural life, mental health, hospice care, justice, technology, sport, engineering, music, religion, personal struggles and migrant stories. He funds his films from charitable bodies, private companies and community supporters, and several of his films have won national or international awards. Dr Davidson is a long-time member of Blenheim Lions and is President of the Marlborough Historical Society. Dr Davidson was instrumental in saving a unique Armstrong Whitworth Argosy aircraft and creating a small museum by Blenheim Airport, dedicated to its history.
