Mr John Flowers, of New Plymouth, MNZM for services to the community
Mr John Flowers has held leadership roles in YMCA New Zealand and has represented the organisation at international forums. He guided YMCA programmes that support youth development and community engagement, and led the creation of a purpose-built shelter for people experiencing homelessness. He has served on the Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust, the Crown Health Enterprise and the Taranaki Diocesan School in Stratford, and is a member of the Board for the Taranaki Musical Theatre Trust and the New Plymouth Golf Club. Mr Flowers is a Trustee with the Taranaki Health Foundation, where he helped fundraising to establish Taranaki’s first Cancer Centre.
