Ken Gilligan, Napier, MNZM
For services to business. Mr Gilligan was the Managing Director of the Port of Napier for more than 10 years, reinstating a declining business to a key provincial asset, and was the Chief Executive Officer of the New Zealand Ports Authority. He is renowned for his strong relationship skills, building key stakeholder relationships that helped to lift the Port of Napier into viability after a long period of declining profits. He was Chair of the Energy Trust of New Zealand from 2003 to 2008 and Chair of the Hawke’s Bay Power Consumers' Trust from 1999 to 2008. He was Chair of the Hawke’s Bay Tourism Trust. He has been a President of the Lions Club of Taradale, a Director of Hawke’s Bay Racing, and a board member of the Napier Golf Club. Mr Gilligan is a board member of Maritime New Zealand, Chair of Cranford Hospice and the Taradale Club Board of Management.
