Ms Allison Dobbie, of Auckland, MNZM for services to library and information management and the arts
Allison Dobbie has been a librarian in Christchurch, Dunedin, and Parliament, and led Auckland Libraries. She spearheaded a registration scheme for Library and Information professionals and is active with the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa. She was a councillor of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand; a member of the advisory committee for Te Ara, the online encyclopaedia of New Zealand; and a convenor of the National Digital Forum’s Strategic Direction Working Group. Ms Dobbie was a Strategic Advisor to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Libraries programme. She headed a programme for library leaders in Oceania and convened a Pacific Libraries Summit
