Mrs Karen Burrows, of Hokitika, KSM for services to sport and the community
Mrs Karen Burrows has held all officer roles with Wests Rugby Club, including President, and successfully navigated the club through a period of hardship. She was New Zealand’s first provincial rugby union President. She has volunteered with the Hokitika/Westland RSA in many capacities, and assists unwell veterans with shopping trips and hospital appointments. She co-led the planning and fundraising for a new RSA building, after the former building was deemed an earthquake risk. Mrs Burrows has held governance roles with the Hokitika Angling Club, Grey Power and Red Cross.
