Mr Murray Thom, of Auckland, ONZM for services to the arts and philanthropy
Mr Murray Thom owns Thom Productions, and has supported numerous organisations and individuals through the Thom Charitable Trust. His Offering project featured 24 New Zealand recording artists and painters collaborating on works inspired by gospel hymns. Dave Dobbyn, Dick Frizzell, Stan Walker, Lisa Reihana, and Hollie Smith offered their talent free of charge, with all proceeds donated to the Salvation Army. Mr Thom produced ‘The Great New Zealand Cookbook’, which raised $125,000 for KidsCan. ‘The Great New Zealand Songbook’ remains one of the highest selling New Zealand albums with more than 120,000 sales. Mr Thom produced Dave Dobbyn’s ‘Loyal’ album and ‘Miracle’ with Celine Dion. He has been on the Board of Play It Strange Charitable Trust and has been involved with the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Mr Thom mentors small business leaders through The Icehouse’s Owner Manager Programme.
