Ian Ferguson
Dr Ian Ferguson, of Titirangi, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to horticultural science. Dr Ferguson is a recognised international expert in horticulture, with a particular interest in the field of post-harvest research. He is the chief scientist at the New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research. He has assisted in developing research programmes, fostered and mentored young scientists, and helped to develop international research linkages. He has contributed to many international research journals. He was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand in 2000. Dr Ferguson is the Guang Biao Visiting Professor at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.
