Warwick Hunt
Warwick Hunt, of Dubai, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to accounting. Mr Hunt has made a significant contribution to accounting in New Zealand. He advanced financial reporting standards in New Zealand by establishing New Zealand’s equivalent to International Financial Reporting Standards. He was Chair of the Accounting Standards Review Board, and was responsible for the strategy to adopt Standards over a period of 18 months which resulted in more than 40 New Zealand equivalents Standards. He was an inaugural New Zealand member of the Australian Financial Reporting Council, where he helped to strengthen working arrangements between New Zealand and Australia. Mr Hunt served and was the Chair of the Trans-Tasman Accounting Group and the Auditing Standards Advisory Group.
