Envoys for the Holy See, France and Nepal will present their credentials to the Governor-General, Lt Gen Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, at Government House in Auckland tomorrow (Tuesday 3 September 2013).
The ceremony, which will include a Māori ceremonial challenge and a military guard of honour provided by the Royal New Zealand Navy, begins at 11am.
The Apostolic Nuncio for the Holy See, HE Archbishop Martin Krebs, is a career diplomat. Ordained as a priest in 1983, he holds a PhD in canon law. He has served the Holy See in Burundi, Japan, Austria, the Czech Republic, the European Union and the United States. Archbishop Krebs is based in Wellington.
The Ambassador of France, HE Laurent Contini, is a career diplomat who has served in India, Indonesia and at the United Nations in New York. His recent appointments include service as Ambassador to Zimbabwe and Ambassador to Rwanda. Mr Contini is based in Wellington.
The High Commissioner of Nepal, HE Rudra Kumar Nepal, is a career diplomat who has served in India, Japan, the United States and Israel. Mr Nepal is based in Canberra.
