Prince Charles in military uniform
New Zealand's new Sovereign will no longer be known as the Prince of Wales. The King's new formal title, as first announced at the accession proclamation ceremony on 11 September, is:

King Charles the Third, By the Grace of God King of New Zealand and of His Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith

In the coming months, Parliament will confirm this title in a new Act.
