Governor-General to visit Australia

On 24 May, the Governor-General, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae and Lady Janine Mateparae will fly to Australia. Their itinerary will include visits to Uluru and the National Indigenous Training Academy at Yulara; the South Australia Health and Medical Research Institute, Flinders University’s Tonsley Laboratories, and ArtLab Australia in South Australia; a wreath-laying at the Australian National War Memorial, a State Welcome, meetings with Governor-General, General The Hon Sir Peter Cosgrove, and Prime Minister, The Hon Tony Abbott, and tree-planting at the National Arboretum in Canberra; and attendance at an Indigenous Veterans Commemoration Ceremony in Sydney.

3.10pm  South Australia Health and Medical Research Institute


Wednesday 27 May

9.45am  Visit to Flinders University Tonsley Laboratories

9.05am  Wreath-laying at the Australian War Memorial

11.20am  Ceremonial Welcome, Government House Canberra

11.40am Meeting with Australian Governor-General General The Hon Sir Peter Cosgrove

2.15pm  Planting of a Gallipoli Oak at the National Arboretum, Canberra

3.30pm  Meeting with Australian Prime Minister The Hon Tony Abbott
