The Governor-General's Anzac of the year Award 2016

The Governor-General, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae will present the Governor-General’s Anzac of the Year Award at a function at Government House in Wellington at 5.30pm on Friday 22 April, 2016. 

The award is presented in association with the RSA and was established to recognise the spirit of Anzac evident in New Zealanders today. The recipient must have demonstrated extraordinary, compassion, comradeship, courage and commitment.

The recipient of this year’s award was chosen by a panel of judges chaired by the Governor-General. Last year’s winner was survivor advocate Louise Nicholas.
