The Governor-General of New Zealand, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, and Lady Janine Mateparae, will undertake a four-day visit to Waikato region this week.
Sir Jerry Mateparae and Lady Janine Mateparae will begin their visit tomorrow (Tuesday 9 July) with a pōwhiri and opening of the new learning centre at Whitiora School in Hamilton and the Governor-General’s participation in the Sir Peter Blake Trust Dream Team initiative. Visiting the Otorohanga Youth Initiative and attending a fund-raising dinner for the Child Cancer Foundation on Wednesday 10 July are two of the many highlights of the programme. The four-day visit will include attending the 40th anniversary dinner of the Huntly and Districts’ Business and Professional Women’s Club and meeting representatives of the Wise Group of charities.
