Boxer Kevin Barry is one of 33 people from the South Island to be invested with New Zealand honours at investiture ceremonies in Christchurch this week.
Governor-General, Hon Sir Anand Satyanand and Lady Susan Satyanand, will host two investiture ceremonies at The Canterbury Club on Friday 26 March 2010.
The investiture ceremonies are being held in Christchurch as Government House in Wellington closed in 2008 for a major Conservation Project. These are the third and fourth major investiture ceremonies to be held outside Wellington or Auckland, with investitures being held in Christchurch and Dunedin last year.
