The Governor-General’s Anzac of the Year Award looks to honour someone whose achievements demonstrate the qualities of comradeship, compassion, courage and commitment.
Delivered on Friday 12 February at Gilmour Park in Waihi at the site of a Memorial to the men of the tunneling unit established for operations on the Western Front in the First World War.
